English Project
We believe in the power of project-based learning and in cooperative learning. Our approach is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, which is all about encouraging the child’s curiosity and potential. They are the driving force behind their learning journey. That’s why we use hands-on activities and games to help our students understand the language better and to get them actively involved in their learning journey.
At Reggio, kids start learning English from an age of 3, and it’s not just in their regular class hours set by the national curriculum. In the afternoons, they get to have even more fun with English through our talents program. For our younger kids, it’s English Drama and Ceramic, and for our Primary students, it’s Cooking, English Drama, and Musical Games.
What do we teach in our English classes? We make sure our kids get a well-rounded education, and that’s why we focus on developing all four language skills: speaking, listening, writing, and reading. And we start with oral expressions from day one.

The real-life materials and realistic prompts in our classes (there are no textbooks in Primaria). Our students get to participate in role plays, debates, press conferences, read books, poems and articles in English. They sing songs and chants. It all helps them to put their language skills into practice in a fun and engaging way.
Especially at the early stages of their education. TPR is a method of language teaching that focuses on using physical actions to help students understand and remember new vocabulary. By using physical movements to accompany language, they are able to internalize the language and make it a part of their active vocabulary.
We want to prepare our students for success in a rapidly changing world and make sure they are ready to take on whatever challenges come their way. With their strong language skills and an appreciation for different cultures, they will be able to navigate the world with ease and make a positive impact on the communities they are a part of.
¿Es un colegio bilingüe? ¿Con qué nivel de inglés salen preparados? ¿Cómo lo aprenden?
Nuestro colegio cuenta con una propuesta de inglés propia. El departamento está formado por nativos de Reino Unido y EEUU (NY) y profesores españoles, todos acreditados por Cambridge. No somos un colegio bilingüe, porque no impartimos asignaturas en inglés. Los alumnos lo aprenden en sus horas de inglés, en los talentos y en los momentos cotidianos que comparten con todos los profesores de inglés.
Trabajamos el curriculum en infantil y 1º y 2º de Primaria con el Método Phonics. A partir de 3º de primaria, en Secundaria y en Bachillerato trabajamos el currículum de Cambridge. Nuestros alumnos alcanzan un nivel de Pet en 6º de primaria, de First Certificate en 4º de la ESO y de Advanced en Bachillerato. Se trabaja por skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing), a través de los proyectos.
Nuestras aulas a partir de 3º de Primaria y hasta Bachillerato se desdoblan reduciendo los grupos a la mitad, para trabajar en grupos reducidos, con una gran participación por parte de los alumnos. Los grupos se organizan por niveles, por skills o por proyectos, generando un trabajo dinámico y participativo, centrados en la comunicación y pronunciación.
Las horas lectivas que se destinan al inglés en primaria son 4 horas a la semana y en Secundaria, a partir del curso 23-24, es una al día. Además por las tardes muchos Talentos se imparten en inglés.
Contamos con actividades de intercambio y comunicación con alumnos en Inglaterra, EEUU y Canadá, con los que establecemos diferente canales de comunicación (cartas, podcast, videollamadas) y compartimos proyectos.
También organizamos, a partir del curso 2023-24, mini-stays de una semana con estancia en familias y curso intensivo de inglés en Ilfracombe, pueblo situado en el condado de Devon (Suroeste de Inglaterra). Es un pueblo costero pequeño que ofrece tranquilidad y seguridad para nuestros estudiantes.
